Paint From Your Soul
Learn more about your authentic self with archetypal women. Here are the Lover and the Mother. They are here to remind us about the fun in life! The Lover reminds us to keep looking at the things that give us joy. The Mother reminds us that everything is going to be ok. Both these archetypal women can show us parts of ourselves we need to hear, and have been longing to express. Featured soon will be two additional archetypes of the Priestess and the Warrior.
Paintings
Nature holds the most curious things. Legends and folklore have always grabbed my attention. The ties between the natural, but unknown have followed camp side stories for centuries. Strange creatures, lights that shouldn’t be there, out of place colors, songs that capture the heart, and ethereal forests are guides in my paintings.
Book Binding
Learning how to book bind started in college in a papermaking class. I liked it so much, I continued to make functional blank books for several years. I worked in an art supply store with a specialty paper wall, so inspiration was never far off.
Fire Flow Arts
Working with fire came as a surprise. I met a traveling musician who did fire performance. She was kind enough to encourage my transfixed questions and soon after I picked up a pair of poi. Her partner then trained me in fire safety and I started playing with fire on my 24th birthday.
My husband and I formed a fire troupe called Dragon’s Gaze in 2010. We gathered others around us to bring the majesty of kinetic fire to local venues, festivals, and neighbors. It lead to further opportunities with Six Flags St. Louis in the show Pyrogeist. It ran for three Fright Fest seasons.
Fire brought together so many people. Many of those people still remember the performances from years ago. I continue to make practice poi for anyone wishing to learn.
